On February 1 at 11PM, Sergeant John Brown along with Officers Michael Gregory, Marc Silva, Pat Triano and Amaris Gracian were dispatched to a John Street address on a report of a noise complaint and possible weapons offenses. Officers proceeded cautiously to speak with the occupants of the second floor. While officers were making contact with at least one male at the front door, a second male attempted to flee through the rear door. Officers staged at that entrance detained the suspect and searched him for weapons, which proved negative. However, the 40 year old Harrison male, was found to be in possession of suspected heroin, controlled prescription medication and packaging materials commonly used in the distribution of drugs. The male who originally answered the front door, 50 from Harrison, was found to have active warrants both from NJ and from FL totally over $5,000. No weapons were discovered. Both offenders were arrested and charged accordingly.
