On August 23, 2020, at approximately 3 PM, police were dispatched to the 700 block of North FER Blvd on a report of an Assault. Upon arrival, the victim advised police that the day prior, she observed the suspect shoplift from the Dollar Store. The victim stated that when the suspect returned on the above date, she approached her regarding the shoplifting the day before. The victim stated that the suspect continued to deny that she shoplifted and shoved the victim to leave the store. A struggle ensued and the suspect grabbed the victim’s phone from her hand and threw it into the street. The suspect entered her vehicle and began to drive away however the victim had grabbed onto the vehicle and was now being dragged by the fleeing vehicle. The victim let go of the vehicle and was tossed to the ground. Police arrested the suspect and she was charged with Shoplifting and Assault.
The Harrison Police would like to thank the residents who immediately called 911 during this incident and provided a description of the assailant and vehicle. This cooperation helped to apprehend this suspect within minutes of the assault. Law enforcement and community partnering together helps keep our neighborhoods safe.
