Through the cooperation of the Mayor and Town Council, recent appointments to the department have allowed us to expand our Patrol Division, putting more officers back on the streets. Patrol has been historically referred to as the "backbone" of any police department. Our highly trained Officers are usually the first to respond to both emergency and non emergency calls alike and generally have the highest level of interaction with those who need assistance (accidents, crimes and other calls for service.) The primary responsibility of your Police Officers is to protect and serve our wonderful, diverse community. Our Officers pride themselves on being leaders in our community holding true to our mission statement of having integrity, being service oriented and treating all people with dignity and respect, while showing compassion without prejudice to all.
